I am not stupid, but Joysticks and Hotas are not user friendly or intuitive-I wish they were more plug-and-play. I am a retired Naval Aviator and a 757/767 United Air Lines Captain, and I'm just getting into these Aviation games.
even if the game does come with preset binds, you'll likely have to go into the bind settings anyway to see which button does exactly what.
Also if you've purchased a HOTAS, there's always going to be a little work in getting it setup for a game. for pitch/yaw/roll/thrust it's the same but it will be under axis tab instead. just select the function and then press the button on the joystick you want that function to be assigned to. go into options -> controls and you can set up your keybinds from the keybinds tab. I thought this was a "PLUG and PLAY" joystick and Hotas! it means you have to set up which button does what, which isn't terribly hard. I have no idea how to set it up or even what "binding" means and how to "bind". I am new to this game and I just purchased a Thrustmaster 1600 Hotas.
